Our Breeding Strategies

My aspiration is to produce well rounded working dogs & give the breed as a whole greater genetic diversity. The rule of thumb that I will be implementing within our breeding program is to keep the COI 5% or below for our pups and to ensure that an individual dog should not appear more than once in the first 4 generations of its pedigree. All sires and dams will be chosen carefully for the desired working traits we require & DNA tested (if available for that breed) before mating to assure any future owners of Paycheck Working Dog puppies that we have taken every precaution to breed a healthy dog and took into consideration the outcome of any hereditary genetic disorders that are currently present within the breed, as well as keeping good working traits.
